Mia Moi was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where she received professional classical ballet training and multi-disciplinary competition experience. She trained with the pre-professional ballet company, BalletForte, under Michael Banigan and Dianne Jarrell. She also has competitive experience as a Drill Team Captain under the direction of Angela Hayes.
Since moving to Austin, Mia has continued to refine her training in ballet, tap, jazz, heels, hip-hop, and contemporary through instruction and performance. She performs with professional organizations like Ventana Ballet, ARCOS, Early Era Collective, Red Nightfall Dance Theatre, and Tapestry. She also teaches at Ballet Austin and is Executive Director of Dance Waterloo - a local nonprofit organization aimed at making movement more accessible to different abilities and backgrounds.
Mia holds Bachelors’ degrees in Communication & Leadership and Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She also enjoys spending time with her four dogs and exploring the outdoors.
